Korbach is a lobbyist without scruples. When his wife dies of the side effects of a pharmaceutical drug he helped bring to market by manipulating the test analysis, his world crumbles. Riddled by guilt his mode of operation changes, which immediately costs him his big corporate clients.

With his old clients now pitted against him as his new nemesis, he makes his first unsuccessful attempts to redeem himself become a lobbyist for the people.
